Greeter
The purpose of the Greeter Program is to enhance visits to the Domes of groups and individuals through courteous and helpful service. You can volunteer at any of our Social Events
Qualifications
Available on a one-half day basis from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm or 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Enjoy meeting and sharing information with visitors in a friendly professional manner. Willingness to learn information related to the Domes. Good verbal communication skills.
Duties
Training
Orientation will be provided by the Volunteer Coordinator, Domes staff, and other Greeters.
Requirements
A minimum of 1 shift per month would be required.

Defining Visitor Relations
Visitor relations is the delicate art of making a visitor so welcome that they will want to return to the Domes. Hopefully, they will encourage friends and neighbors to also visit. All visitors should be treated with the same respect and courtesy as a guest in your home.
Gift Shop Assistant
Purpose
The purpose of the gift shop assistant is to help gift shop staff members with various duties. These duties would entail assistance to visitors, answering questions, assisting in finding merchandise, making suggestions to customers, bagging purchases, and ringing sales.
Qualifications
Individuals who like assisting people. Prior sales experience is a plus. In order to work the cash register we would require at least 10 hours per month. There are many other opportunities to help out in the gift shop that do not require a minimum number of hours per month.
Duties
Duties will be tailored to your individual skills and strengths. They could include some or all of the following:
- Pricing and marking merchandise.
- Stocking and straightening shelves.
- Operating the cash register, covering all payments and procedures.
- During busy times you may be asked to circulate in the store and assist shoppers.
- You may be asked to assist in store inventory.
Training
Volunteers are trained in the duties described by the gift shop manager and the staff.
Requirements
A minimum of 10 hours would be required for those individuals who wish to operate the cash register.
Benefits
Volunteers working 10 hours a month or more in the gift shop will receive a 20% discount on all regularly priced merchandise.

Friends of the Domes - Volunteer Application
The Friends of the Domes (FOD) have many volunteer areas in which you can utilize your talents and further our mission: to support and promote the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory. The FOD channels resources that make possible many of the educational, scientific, and cultural programs offered at this very special and unique historical landmark.
